Villa Klematis was built in the famous "Vesnini dvori" – the Court of Vesna – estate named after the famous and beloved "lady" of the house, whose name derives from the figure of the spring goddess.
Lady Vesna with her beloved husband Vladimir in the early 40s ordered to carve a reservoir within the rocks to collect rainwater in order to begin building the house. Construction was complete in 1963 becoming the property we admire today.
Each one of the elegant and ancient stones has been transported by sea with a small dinghy and has been embossed with dedication creating authenticity of the façade. Thus becoming model of the typical Mediterranean construction style spread on the Croatian Adriatic coast.
The architecture has been designed with the creativity of the owners and the expertise of Josip Seissel, distinguished architect, urban planner and Croatian painter.
This combination has made Villa Klematis the first example of total mimicry architecture configuration with the surrounding land as reported in numerous books and academic publications creating an invisible structure to the outside world, set on stone and enclosed by lush Mediterranean vegetation.
Unique place enchanting the visitors eager to intimacy and offering a peaceful space to chill-out.
The current owners descendants will receive the guests and will be happy to make your vacation an unforgettable memory.
